Safeguarding user data is a core duty of the IT Department. As endorsed by the leadership teams of both the International and Korean Sections in June 2023, all staff email accounts at Korean International School must have two-factor authentication (2FA) enabled.
Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an additional security layer designed to protect your accounts. It requires not only a password and username but also something that only the user has on them—such as a physical device or a mobile app. This means that even if someone knows your password, they cannot access your account without the second form of verification.
Staff can use either SMS or a 2FA app called Microsoft Authenticator. In most cases, we recommend using the authenticator app over SMS or email, as it provides a more secure method of verification. Authenticator apps generate time-sensitive codes that are more difficult for attackers to intercept compared to SMS messages.
